Thank you for visiting the website of Slater Baptist Church! I have been Senior Pastor of SBC since October 1, 2001. Previous pastorates have been First Baptist Church, Russell, IA from 1983-1989, and Faith Baptist Church, Oelwein, IA from 1989-2001. My wife, Jeanie, and I have been married since September 25, 1982. The Lord has given us 4 kids who make us glad every day that we’re their Dad and Mom: Matt, Brett, Sarah, & Blake.

I had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home and had parents who made Jesus Christ the center of their lives. During my early years in life I became aware that I was a sinner and trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior. My desire to share the gospel with others comes from God’s deep work of grace in my life. I am a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and currently live in Huxley with my loving wife Kamber and son, Juddson.
